Summary
Courtyard by Marriott Carolina Beach will become Carolina Beach’s newest and first franchise hotel, featuring many amenities. The hotel will set a new standard in Coastal Carolina through imaginative design and the array of services offered.

The exciting new 100,000-square-foot hotel will be the first Courtyard by Marriott in the resort area.

The hotel will be built upon a 2.28-acre oceanfront parcel.

A prominent feature of the hotel will be the addition of a 5,600-square-foot conference facility, a first in Carolina Beach.

The hotel will feature a large oceanfront, outdoor pool plaza with distinctive water features.


Location

Courtyard by Marriott Carolina Beach will be located on a large parcel of oceanfront property, along the Boardwalk at Charlotte Avenue.

The hotel will provide guests with direct access to the oceanfront, and all rooms will have oceanfront views.

Structure

Courtyard by Marriott Carolina Beach will be ten stories tall.

The hotel will be a contemporary design, built on a sturdy concrete frame.

The land-side of the building will feature a distinctive architectural window system.

A landmark design tower on top of the building will make Courtyard by Marriott Carolina Beach a recognizable icon both from the boardwalk area and along the beachfront.

A conference facility of approximately 5,600 square feet will accommodate more than 350 people.

Banquet facilities will be flexible enough to handle any size function to more than 350 guests.

An oversized, comfortable lobby area will be included.

An indoor pool with Jacuzzi will be open year-round.

An extensive exercise facility will be fully equipped.

An 80-seat restaurant off the lobby daily will open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

A 40-seat outdoor café will be located adjacent to the pool plaza.

A 100-square-foot convenience store/sundry shop will be located off the lobby.

Room Features

Courtyard by Marriott Carolina Beach will offer 144 guest rooms.

Eighteen (18) guest rooms will be oversized two-room suites to satisfy the growing family-orientation market of Carolina Beach.

Nine (9) rooms will feature king beds and Jacuzzi baths.

All guest rooms will feature upscale amenities:
– Granite vanities in all rooms
– Refrigerators in all rooms
– Microwaves in suites
– Coffee makers in all rooms
– Internet jacks on phones in all rooms

All guest rooms will feature upgraded furnishings and decor packages not normally associated with lodging facilities in the area.
All guest rooms have direct oceanfront vistas, with private balconies.

Leisure and Relaxation

A custom designed oceanfront, outdoor pool plaza will provide direct access to the ocean. The pool will have unique design features:
– Decorative fountains
– Waterfall
– Deck for guests’ private sunbathing

Timing

Construction begins in September, 2002.

Completion is scheduled for mid-June, 2003.
